Still Monday 9 December

A very good flight. We boarded on time and were off the ground by 2.50. Very full plane because a United was cancelled and they merged with this flight, as well as being a Delta code share. Virgin Australia is a lovely airline to fly with. The lady next to me, Laura, was a business traveller (from Denistone, Sydney) who's in the fashion industry, about Jenny’s age flying across for four days and then home to her family again.

I did some work on the photo book from our July trip, read some of my book and then it was time for dinner. I decided that I was going to get a good sleep so I reckon by about 6.30, I was settling down. I slept pretty well, only changing position occasionally. When I heard an unintelligible announcement I thought I’d sleep for a little bit longer and was amazed to see, when my eyes could focus on the trip screen clock that it was 2.15 already, only 1.5 hours to LA and breakfast was being served! I had slept for almost 8 hours!

Laura had some Vitamin B stuff especially for jet lag and I had some in my water, so now I’m feeling quite awake and ready for the next flight.

My silver bag came off the carousel minus a wheel, one of the ones on the same side as the handle: the whole housing got ripped out.

I’m in the LA Business Class lounge which is very nice, with lots of good food for lunch. Just watching a majestic A380 taking off. I won’t get in to Pearson, Toronto till midnight, so I imagine I might still have another snooze on that flight too. I’m running low on laptop power and can’t work out how my charger will accept a 3-pin pug, so I can’t recharge. See you in  Canada!
